Today, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation adopted a Statement on the need to unite the efforts of the international community in countering terrorism.

He stressed that Russian parliamentarians welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism as a first step towards giving a parliamentary dimension to the initiative of the President of Russian Federation to establish a broad international coalition against terrorism.
Vladimir Dzhabarov noted the desire to continue the deliberations on the topic next May in St. Petersburg at the World Conference on Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue.
According to the press service of the Federation Council, the statement will be sent to the United Nations, the parliaments of the UN Member Nations and international parliamentary organizations.
