Tajikistan Celebrates Parliament Day

Parliament Day is celebrated annually in Tajikistan on 26 September. The holiday was established in 2023 following Amendments to the Law on Public Holidays.
The law was adopted by a Resolution of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan on 15 March 2023, and supported by a Resolution of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan on 16 June 2023.
The new holiday is intended to emphasize the role, significance and authority of the country’s highest legislative body, as well as the importance of the activities of local government authorities.
