Talant Mamytov Chaired First Meeting of Council on Rights of Women, Children and Gender Equality

Today, the first meeting of the Council on the Rights of Women, Children and Gender Equality was held under the presidency of Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Talant Mamytov. The event brought together MPs, the representatives of public authorities, international organizations and civil society. The Council is an important platform for discussing issues aimed at protecting the rights of women and children and ensuring gender equality. Jogorku Kenesh and local Keneshi have developed and actively supported relevant legislative amendments to increase the proportion of women to 30%. There is also the need to strengthen the legal framework to eliminate violence against women and children. Therefore, the Council should discuss all issues in detail and make recommendations that will help develop improved legislation. Deputy Chair of the Council on Rights of Women, Children and Gender Equality Sharapatkan Mazhitova called on stakeholders to take an active part in the activities of the organization.
