Kyrgyz MPs Adopted a Law in Field of Combating Corruption

Today, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, the MPs approved the Law on Public Procurement aimed at improving public procurement system and introducing best practices in this area, as well as simplifying procedures and minimizing corruption manifestations. The draft law, in particular, provides for the following changes: a complete transition to electronic procurement through the use of electronic signature, the conclusion of contracts in electronic format (smart contracts) with their subsequent administration on the web portal, the establishment of the centralized public Procurement Center. According to the press service of the parliament, during the discussion of the law, it was noted that its adoption was aimed at reducing the influence of the human factor and eliminating corruption by digitalizing the procurement process.
