Valentina Matvienko Summed Up Work of Federation Council of Federal Assembly of Russian Federation

On 21 December 2022, during a press conference, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko summed up the results of the year and noted that in 2022, Russian senators adopted about 170 socially oriented laws.
The Speaker of the Federation Council stated that the outgoing year was special, and one of those that would be included in history textbooks.
She stressed that efforts of legislators were primarily aimed at ensuring sustainable functioning of the state, economy and financial sector. In addition, all social commitments have been preserved and implemented, as well as additional measures have been taken to strengthen social protection of citizens.
Valentina Matvienko noted the deepening of integration processes within the CIS, the EAEU and the Union State. Speaker also noted the desire to develop relations with partners and friendly countries at the parliamentary level.
Among important events to be held in 2023, Valentina Matvienko mentioned the Nevsky International Ecological Congress, which will take place at the IPA CIS headquarters in May.
