State Duma of Russian Federation Adopted 653 Laws in 2022

Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin summed up the results of the chamber’s work in 2022. He noted that the Duma had adopted 653 laws —the largest number in the entire history of the parliament. At the same time, 222 laws (34%) were socially oriented.
The spring session of the State Duma will begin on 9 January and will last until 30 July 2023.
Speaking about the plans for the next year, Vyacheslav Volodin said that there were 1,319
draft laws left in the legislative portfolio, of which 968 were being prepared for consideration in the first reading, 346 in the second, five in the third.
The draft laws include those aimed at bringing interaction with key partners to a new level, strengthening technological sovereignty and the growth in manufacturing, ensuring financial sovereignty, advancing infrastructure development, real wage growth and increasing the minimum wage, as well as support for motherhood and families with children.
Earlier, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko had briefed on the results of the work of the upper house of the Russian Parliament in 2022.
