Valentina Matvienko: We Grieve Together With Brotherly People of Republic of Kazakhstan

On the Day of National Mourning in Kazakhstan, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko expressed her condolences in connection with the victims of the tragic events.
In a message addressed to Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev, she noted that the Federation Council with particular concern perceived the tragic consequences of the dramatic events that occurred in a number of regions of Kazakhstan.
According to the Speaker of the Federation Council, the terrorist act of aggression showed the scale of its destructive power, caused a direct threat not only to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the republic but also to the security of neighboring countries. Valentina Matvienko stressed that the Russian senators condemn the inhumane actions aimed at dragging the country into an abyss of chaos and lawlessness and resulting in the loss of lives. She also noted that the Federation Council highly appreciates the confident and consistent actions of the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan to restore the constitutional order and stressed the willingness to continue to support Kazakhstan in overcoming any difficulties.
On behalf of the Federation Council and herself personally, Valentina Matvienko expressed deep condolences in connection with the numerous victims of the tragic events, addressed words of sympathy to the families and friends of the victims, and wished a quick recovery to the victims.
