Valentina Matvienko and Sadyr Japarov Discussed Issues of Parliamentary Cooperation

Today, a meeting of Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov took place at the upper chamber. The parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation of the states, including at the parliamentary level.

According to Valentina Matvienko, the visit of Sadyr Japarov to Moscow will give a powerful impetus to the entire range of Russian-Kyrgyz relations. The Speaker of the Federation Council noted the high level of development of relations between the two countries, the proximity of the states in all areas: politics, economy, cultural and humanitarian spheres and international affairs.

Sadyr Japarov stressed that Kyrgyzstan is a long-term partner and reliable ally of Russia. “We intend to comply with all previously reached agreements between our countries. Our negotiations will facilitate strengthening of the foundation of interaction between the two countries and further dynamic development of relations” – he said.

The Speaker of the Federation Council noted that the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, as well as other international institutions, have become an important platform for the promotion of joint initiatives. “Harmonization of our legislation, building of a single legal framework create conditions for the development of business and cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres” – stressed Valentina Matvienko.
