Vyacheslav Volodin Called on Russian MPs to Step-Up Efforts in Inter-Parliamentary Institutions

Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin spoke at the opening of the first plenary meeting of the autumn session of the lower chamber of the Russian parliament, outlining the main directions of the MPs’ work in the coming month.

According to Vyacheslav Volodin, the priority will be given to consideration of the main financial law of Russia. It is also planned to adopt 12 laws aimed at setting up the budget.

Furthermore, the Speaker of the State Duma said that the MPs would be briefed by a number of ministers and deputy chairpersons of the Russian Government during the autumn session. The adaptation of the laws aimed at implementing the new provisions of the Constitution of the Russian Federation will become another priority.

At the end of the speech, Vyacheslav Volodin drew attention to an international agenda. He called on the MPs to conduct an open dialogue with the parliaments of all countries on the principles of trust, mutual respect, absence of double standards, while defending the interests of Russia and its citizens. In addition, the Speaker of the State Duma called on the MPs to work more actively in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia.
