Russian Senators Took Part in Meeting of PACE Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination

On 14 September 2020, First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Constitutional Legislation and State Building Irina Rukavishnikova and member of the Federation Council Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on the House Rules and Parliamentary Performance Management Sergei Fabrichny took part in the online meeting of the Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on Equality and Non-Discrimination.

Discussion of the report Preservation of the Linguistic, Ethnic, Cultural and National Diversity of Europe took place during the event. The Council of Europe’s Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence (Istanbul Convention) was also considered.

Sergey Fabrichny drew attention to the fact that the Russian Federation pays due attention to the prevention and fight against violence against women and domestic violence.

In addition, the meeting adopted a resolution and recommendation Prevention of Discrimination Caused by the Use of Artificial Intelligence.
