Vyacheslav Volodin and Zinaida Greceanii Discussed Issues of Development of Moldovan-Russian Parliamentary Cooperation

A meeting of Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin and Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Modova Zinaida Greceanii took place in Moscow on 25 December 2020. President of the Republic of Moldova from 2016 to 2020 Igor Dodon attended the meeting.

The Parties discussed the issues related to further development of the Moldovan-Russian cooperation, including in the parliamentary area.

Zinaida Greceanii reaffirmed the interest in strengthening relations between the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation both on the bilateral basis and within the regional and international parliamentary organizations. She also told about the law on the status of the Russian language as a language of inter-ethnic communication adopted in Moldova. Vyacheslav Volodin noted that this was important for economic, cultural and social cooperation between the countries.

Speaker of the State Duma also stressed the need to preserve the common historical memory of the two countries about the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
