Asylbek Zheenbekov was elected Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic

At the meeting of the VI Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Asylbek Zheenbekov was elected as Speaker. Before the election Assylbek Zheennbekov had addressed to the deputies as a contender to the high position.

The newly elected Speaker expressed his gratitude for the support and noted that he would do his utmost for the prosperity of the Kyrgyz people.

In his address Asylbek Zheenbekov shared his programme for the future. As he noted, for the VI Jogorky Kenesh it is important to pay tis attention to close cooperation of parliamentary factions and follow the principle Factions are six, but Kyrgyzstan is one.

According to Asylbek zheenbekov it is also necessary to optimize the structure of the Jogorku Kenesh. The membership of the committees and their functions must be in compliance with the development goals. He offered to reduce the number of the committees from 14 to 9.

As Asylbek Zheenbekov noted it was important to define the structure and membership of the government and prove the real Programme for the executive authority. ‘The new government should not start from the scratch, it should follow its course’ said Asylbek Zheenbekov.
