Ilyas Umakhanov: IPA CIS is a solid parliamentary foundation of the Commonwealth

The Upper Chamber of the Russian Parliament hosted the International Conference 20th Anniversary of the Federation Council. Ways of Interparliamentary Engagement of CIS Nations.
At the Conference, Ilyas Umakhanov noted that interparliamentary effort across the CIS has been a priority of the work of the Federation Council since its beginning. The 20 years behind saw a big progress, including integration processes across the CIS.

The IPA CIS is focused on stepping up and enhancing of interparliamentary cooperation and integration in the Commonwealth, convergence of national laws, shaping of common economic, legal and humanitarian framework
“The review of practical use of model laws in the CIS speaks for their major role in bringing together and the improvement of national legislation”, added Umakhanov.
