IPA CIS and IPU developed a self-assessment toolkit for parliaments in the context of their efforts to achieve the SDGs

In the run-up to 137 IPU Assembly to be held in St. Petersburg on 14-18 October, the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union developed a publication “Parliaments and the Sustainable Development Goals: a Self-Assessment Toolkit” containing a set of effective self-assessment tools for parliaments.

Self-assessment is a method that parliaments can use to start their own process of internal benchmarking and to assess their preparedness to achieve the SDGs. Self-assessment outcomes should allow parliaments to set priorities for reform in order to strengthen their capacities to achieve the SDGs.

During the 137^th IPU Assembly, English and Russian versions of the publication “Parliaments and the Sustainable Development Goals: a Self-Assessment Toolkit” will be made available to representatives of parliaments of almost all countries.
