IPA CIS and IPU developed a self-assessment toolkit for parliaments in the context of their efforts to achieve the SDGs

In the run-up to 137 IPU Assembly to be held in St. Petersburg on 14-18 October, the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union developed a publication “Parliaments and the Sustainable Development Goals: a Self-Assessment Toolkit” containing a set of effective self-assessment tools for parliaments.

Self-assessment is a method that parliaments can use to start their own process of internal benchmarking and to assess their preparedness to achieve the SDGs. Self-assessment outcomes should allow parliaments to set priorities for reform in order to strengthen their capacities to achieve the SDGs.

During the 137th IPU Assembly, English and Russian versions of the publication “Parliaments and the Sustainable Development Goals: a Self-Assessment Toolkit” will be made available to representatives of parliaments of almost all countries.
