Lower Chamber of Majlisi Oli of Republic of Tajikistan Adopted Financing Agreement on Countering COVID-19

The Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan adopted the Financing Agreement between the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Development Association for the Tajikistan Emergency COVID-19 Project. The Agreement was signed on 3 April 2020 in Dushanbe and submitted by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for the approval by the Majlisi namoyandagon.

The amount of funds raised will be 11,3 million USD and is aimed at strengthening of the health care system in the field of resuscitation and intensive care, including new equipment, medicines, test kits, protective equipment, disinfectants, at least 100 new hospital beds and other basic necessities for countering pandemic COVID-19.

The project is also aimed at implementing different measures preventing the spread of COVID-19, including those related to the preparation of the society for the virus, social assistance and food security.

The cooperation with other financial organizations continues to move forward as well, which will help to find means to combat the virus.
