Members of Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyz Republic Adopt a Number of Laws

On 15 April, members of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic adopted the Law on Public Procurement in the third reading.

Member of the Jogorku Kenesh Elvira Surabaldieva encouraged the public authorities not to prosecute those officials, who had to purchase some goods during the quarantine, such as protective equipment, without holding tenders.

On the same day, the MPs also ratified the Agreement on Funding Between the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Development Association (Ad-Hoc Project on COVID-19) signed on 7 April 2020 in Bishkek.

According to Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Sabirjan Abdikarimov, the International Development Association provides concessional financing within the framework of the Agreement in order to ensure efficient and flexible response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Moreover, the members of the Jogorku Kenesh ratified the Swiss Grant Agreement, which provides for additional funding of the National Water Management Project between the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Development Association signed on 5 November 2019 in Bishkek.

The parliament also approved the Draft Law on Amending Certain Legal Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic on Management of Insurance Payments for State Social Insurance.
