Message of the IPA CIS Council Chairperson

Dear veterans of the Great Patriotic War!

May I offer my sincere congratulations to you on the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War! The Victory of 1945 holds outstanding place in the world’s history full of glorious endeavors. Never before, had we witnessed such strong attachment to the Homeland, massive stoicism and sacrifice at the battlefields, titanic labors at the home front, as was the case during the War. Having broken the backbone of Fascism and its citadel – the Nazi Germany, our countries defended their freedom and became a decisive force in saving the mankind from the horror unseen before.

This is the reason why today we stand united as we try to grasp the unfathomable profundity of meaning and the power of moral appeal of the Victory Day.

Dear veterans! It would be an act of gross ingratitude on our part, if we, the younger generations, let ourselves forget what we owe to you. This is never going to happen! We will always remember and honor the labor of our forefathers. The exploits of those who defended our right to live, our right to speak our own language, enjoy our own culture and go our own way. We will never forget those who rebuilt the country from ashes and laid the foundation for the future well-being of the Homeland.

Victory Day is also a day to remember, to pay tribute to the ones who fell at the battlefields fighting for the Homeland. Every family across our nation has someone to remember. May their glory shine forever!

We remember those who died in the besieged Leningrad, innocents doomed to death and deprivation by the invaders. May they be forever remembered!

Dear veterans! You are as dear and as close to our hearts as noone can be! Your story will be a source of inspiration for generations to come.

Happy Victory Day!
