National Day in Moldova is marked by parades and motor rallies

On 27 August 1991, the Parliament of Moldova approved the Declaration of Independence drafted by the Great National Congress in Cisinau. The document proclaimed Moldova an independent sovereign state free to dispose of its present and future according to the will of the people and its high ambitions within its historical and ethnical province without external influence.
