Ninth Meeting of Kyrgyz-Russian Interparliamentary Commission Takes Place in Moscow

The ninth meeting of Interparliamentary Commission for cooperation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation with the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic took place at the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in Moscow. The MPs of both countries as well as Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurbek Satvaldiev attended the meeting.

The parties discussed issues related to economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. They also shared their opinions on condition and perspectives of development of interregional engagement between constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic. Since the year 2020 was declared the Russian-Kyrgyz Cross Year, the MPs paid special attention to the development of bilateral cooperation in humanitarian and cultural areas.

The members of the Commission stressed the significance of improving coordination between parliamentarians of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation for enhancing harmonization of national legislations of the Member Nations of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Following the results of discussion, Kyrgyz-Russian Interparliamentary Commission highlighted an essential input of all the peoples of the multinational USSR to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 – 1945. Within their work programme, the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh visited an exhibition of military painting “Memory of Generations” and the Victory Museum.
