Republic of Belarus and Kyrgyz Republic Celebrate 103rd Anniversary of October Revolution

On 7 November, the Republic of Belarus celebrates the Day of October Revolution, and the Kyrgyz Republic – the Day of the Great October Socialist Revolution. The holiday is celebrated at the state level.
The October Revolution took place on 7 November (25 October) 1917. On that day, the armed uprising in Petrograd overthrew the Provisional Government and released the proclamation “To the Citizens of Russia”. The power was transferred to the Petrograd Military Revolutionary Committee.
During the USSR period, the 7 November was a public holiday marked with workers’ demonstrations throughout the country.
