Republic of Tajikistan celebrates the National Flag Day

The holiday is celebrated in the Republic of Tajikistan since 2009.
The flag consists of three colors: the red stripe symbolizes liberty and independence, the white one stands for peace and tranquility, and the green one means prosperity. The crown with hemicycle of seven stars is located in the center, symbolizing the seven historic and cultural centers of Tajikistan.
In autumn 2011, the national symbol of the Republic of Tajikistan was placed in the Guinness Book of Records, with the world’s highest 165 m high flagpole established in Dushanbe. The record lasted till September 2014.
