The CIS National parliaments start work after the NY recess

The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia will hold its first session on 1 February.

The first session of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan will take place on 1 February, while the committees have already started working on 11 January.

On 11 January 2016, Mikhail Myasnikov presided at the meeting of the Presidium of the Council of the Republic of Belarus. The participants focused on the outcomes of 2015 and plans for 2016.

The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus got down to work on 4 January, its first meeting will be held on 27 January.

On 11 January, Kasym Jomart Tokaev presided at the meeting of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The participants adopted the agenda for the next plenary session of the Upper House of Parliament that will take place on 14 January 2016.

The Bureau of Mazhilis presided by Kabibulla Zhakypov held its meeting on 8 January focusing on the issues for the first plenary session of 2016 that took place on 13 January.

The Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic had its first session on 6 January. The MPs focused on the Calendar Plan of the Jogorku Kenesh for January.

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova held its special session on 4 January.

The 385th session of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation will be held on 27 January, while the State Duma will hold its first plenary on 19 January.

Shukurdzhon Zukhurov, Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan, presided at the first meeting of the Assembly of Representatives (Majlisi namoyandogon) on 4 January.

The joint session of the Majlisi namoyandogon and Majlisi milli will be held on 20 January in Dushanbe.
