The Independence Day in the Republic of Kazakhstan

The Independence Day celebrated in Kazakhstan on 16-17 December is a public holiday in the country.
It has been celebrated 24 times already. On 16 December 1991 the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan adopted the Declaration on the National Sovereignty.

Traditionally, the day before was marked by awarding those who contributed to social, economic and cultural life, strengthening friendship and cooperation among nations.
