The Republic of Belarus and the Kyrgyz Republic celebrate 98th anniversary of the October Revolution

The October Revolution Day and the October Great Socialistic Revolution Day are celebrated on 7 November in the Republic of Belarus and in the Kyrgyz Republic correspondingly.

This is a national holiday for both countries.

The October Revolution took place on 7 November 1917. That was the day when the caretaker government was toppled in Petrograd. State power passed into the hands of the Military Revolutionary Committee.

During the Soviet times 7 November was a public holiday marked with rallies of the working people in every city of the country.
