Today, Azerbaijan celebrated 95 years of the National Flag

The official flag of the Azerbaijan Republic has been adopted as a national symbol of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on 9 November 1918 and survived till April 1920 when replaced by the flag of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic. On 5 February 1991, the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan passed a law on the National Flag making the three-colored banner the official national flag as the successor of the falg Azerbaijan Democratic Republic along with other state insignia. On 17 November 2009, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the National Day of the Flag. It is also a holyday and a stay-at-home day.
