Young CIS parliamentarians will meet in Astana

Following an invitation by the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the12th meeting of the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations will take place in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 18 October.

The meeting will bring together YIPA CIS parliamentary delegations including members of legislative bodies at national, regional and local levels.

The meeting will discuss trends and prospects for the development of youth policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, analyze the situation of young people in the CIS, challenges and opportunities of digital economy for CIS the youth, safety of the media for youth and current media education strategies, as well as the activities of public youth-led organizations.

Members of youth parliamentary delegations will discuss the progress in drafting the Recommendations on Regulation and Development of the Activity of Youth Parliaments of the CIS Member Nations, as well as YIPA CIS action plan for 2019, including the issues of hosting the spring session of the Assembly.

During the YIPA CIS autumn session, parliamentarians will take part in the International Conference “Investing in Youth”, co-organized by Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Asian Population and Development Association. The program of the event includes the following panel discussions: Extending opportunities for education and youth employment; Universal access to information, education and health services; Full participation of youth in civil, economic and social issues; Risks and opportunities for youth in the context of globalization.
