13th International Festival of CIS and Baltic Countries “Meetings in Russia” Took Place in St. Petersburg

On 13–18 May 2021, eight performances were shown within the framework of the 13th International Festival of the CIS and Baltic Countries “Meetings in Russia”, organized by the “Baltic House” theater-festival. The CIS Interparliamentary Assembly traditionally supported the event aimed at preserving and developing the common cultural space of the Commonwealth.

On the opening day of the festival, Head of the IPA CIS Model Law-Making Support Unit Sergey Belousov and Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport Igor Minin presented theatre groups participating in the festival with memorable gifts on behalf of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

At the Second International Conference “Russian Theater Abroad as an Institute of Russian Culture” held on 14 May, Igor Minin congratulated the festival participants on an important theatrical event on behalf of the IPA CIS Council Secretary General Dmitriy Kobitskiy.

The conference was also attended by First Deputy Chair of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Culture, member of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport Elena Drapeko, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alla Manilova, representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo and other agencies.
