78th meeting of the CIS Economic Council took place in Moscow

According to the CIS Executive Committee press-service, the meeting made a decision to establish a working group on drafting the Economic Development Strategy for the CIS until 2030 composed of the representatives of economic and financial agencies, scientific community and business of the CIS member nations. The working group is to commence its work in the 1st quarter of 2019.
Members of the CIS Economic Council authorized the Interstate Statistic Committee of the CIS to continue the monitoring of the target macroeconomic figures of the development of the CIS economies. This information will be conveyed to the CIS governments for the use in the process of implementation of the activities aimed at tackling the relevant issues in the financial and economic areas.
Members of the Economic Council exchanged views on the state of competition in the housing market of the economy class in the CIS, approved the work carried out by the CIS anti-trust bodies and the Intergovernmental Council for Anti-Monopoly Policy aimed at ensuring equal opportunities in the development of the market for the construction of affordable housing and improving its regulation.
The meeting adopted a number of draft documents, to be brought before the CIS Council of the Heads of Government, including the draft agreements on the Cooperation of the CIS for Ensuring Readiness in Case of a Nuclear Accident or a Radiation Emergency and Mutual Assistance during the Mitigation of its Consequences, as well as on Cooperation of the CIS for the Prevention and Elimination of Foci of Diseases and Forest Pests in the Border Areas of the CIS Member States.
