CIS Experts Discussed Cooperation in Field of Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes

A meeting of the CIS Expert Advisory Board on Diabetes organized by the CIS Executive Committee was held via videoconferencing.

The event brought together the representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organization and the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

The experts discussed the implementation of the CIS Cooperation Program for the Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes for 2021–2025, analyzed the statistics on this disease in the CIS countries over the past year and exchanged information on the systems for organizing medical and social care for patients with diabetes in their respective countries.

The meeting discussed preparations for the next meeting of the CIS Advisory Board on Cooperation in the Field of Public Health, which is scheduled for late September in Kazakhstan, as well as the development of the federal project “Fight Against Diabetes” for 2022-2030 within the framework of the national project of the Russian Federation “Health”.
