Dmitriy Kobitskiy Suggested Discussing Development of Organized Recruitment in Migration Sector at Labor Forum in St. Petersburg

On 17 December 2021, a meeting of the Organizing Committee of the VI St. Petersburg International Labor Forum to be held in March 2022 took place via videoconferencing.

The Forum is co-organized by the St. Petersburg Committee for Labor and Employment, St. Petersburg State University and the IPA CIS. The meeting participants discussed the concept, topics and dates of the Forum. The event will be held on 17 and 18 March and will be dedicated to “Labor Market and Employment in a Post-Pandemic Reality”.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy recalled that the IPA CIS, starting with the I St. Petersburg International Labor Forum, actively participated in its work. He also informed the meeting participants that at the fifty-third plenary session of the Assembly on 25 November the Commonwealth parliamentarians adopted the Joint Statement of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Regional Office in Vienna of the International Organization for Migration and the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organization “Legislative Support for Labor Migration During the Pandemic”. In this regard, the IPA CIS Council Secretary General suggested that the VI St. Petersburg International Labor Forum would discuss the processes of developing organized recruitment in the migration sector, as well as new staffing models, including in the context of widespread remote forms of employment. Dmitriy Kobitskiy also suggested holding events of the IPA CIS special project – Travel Hub “Commonwealth” within the framework of the Forum, expanding the range of issues discussed.

In addition, Dmitriy Kobitskiy made a proposal to hold the International Conference “Migration Processes: Features of Migration Policy at the Present Stage”, co-organized by the St. Petersburg Committee for Labor and Employment, St. Petersburg State University and the IPA CIS.
