Experts Discussed Prospects of Adopting Digital Code of Russian Federation

On 15 September 2023, Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL) hosted a roundtable “Digital Code in Russia: pros and cons”.
The participants of the roundtable noted that recently the need to develop and adopt the Digital Code of the Russian Federation has been actively discussed on various academic venues. A digital code is being developed in Azerbaijan, a draft code has been publicized in Kyrgyzstan and a draft code has been prepared in Uzbekistan.
During the speeches the experience of the IPA CIS, in particular, on the Model Information Code for the CIS Member Nations was mentioned.
The roundtable was attended by members of the Expert Advisory Board of the IPA CIS and the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications: Professor of the Department of Information Law and Digital Technologies of the Moscow State Law Academy, Chief Researcher of the Sector of Information Law and International Information Security of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences Victor Naumov, Head of the Information Law Sector of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences Tatiana Polyakova, Chief Research Fellow of the Administrative Legislation and Procedure Department of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation Lyudmila Tereshchenko, as well as Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education, Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS – RCC Expert Advisory Board Alexander Surygin.
