Ilham Aliyev Won Presidential Election in Azerbaijan Republic

Chair of the Central Election Commission of the Azerbaijan Republic Mazakhir Panahov has announced the final results of the snap presidential election held on 7 February 2024.

Ilham Aliyev, a candidate of the “New Azerbaijan” Party, was elected to the post of President with 92.12% of votes. According to the CEC of Azerbaijan, the voter turnout at the election was 76,43%, more than 4 million 567 thousand voted for the head of state.

Also, the CEC of Azerbaijan submitted a protocol on the results of the presidential election together with the relevant documents to the Constitutional Court for approval of the results.

According to Article 103 of the Constitution of Azerbaijan, the elected President takes the oath of office within 3 days from the day of the official announcement of the results of the presidential election by the Constitutional Court.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy and Deputy Secretary General, IPA CIS Council - Plenipotentiary Representative of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Aidyn Jafarov sent congratulations to Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of winning the presidential election.
