OSCE PA Session Completed

From 30 June to 6 July 2021, the session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly took place in a mixed format. Margareta Cederfelt (Sweden), who had previously served as the OSCE PA Vice-President, was elected the President of the Assembly. Reinhold Lopatka (Austria) assumed the office of the OSCE PA Vice-President. He took an active part in the IPA CIS events in 2021.
During the plenary session, reports were made by the Chairs of the OSCE PA Ad-Hoc Committees and Special Representatives on the activities of the Assembly in the field of migration, countering terrorism, the Arctic, climate change, gender issues, human trafficking, etc.
Within the framework of the session, the participants also considered the reports on the socio-economic consequences of the pandemic, sustainable management of migration processes, multilateral diplomacy after COVID-19, protracted conflicts in the OSCE region, the consequences of the pandemic for cross-border threats and access to healthcare services.
The IPA CIS Council Secretariat followed the work of the OSCE PA in a remote format as an observer.
