PABSEC Chairmanship Passed to Russia

On 22 November 2021, the 58th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation took place via videoconferencing. During the meeting, the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation took over the chairmanship of the organization from the Parliament of the Republic of Romania in rotation.

Deputy Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Alexander Babakov stressed that the Russian Federation was interested in the further development of multilateral economic cooperation in the region aimed at peace, stability and prosperity.

During the chairmanship, the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in the PABSEC intends to promote energy security, expansion of trade and transport flows.

According to the press service of the State Duma, in case of a favorable epidemiological situation, the 59th PABSEC General Assembly may be held in Moscow in person in June 2022.
