Regular Meeting of CIS Council of Permanent Representatives Held in Minsk

Today, the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk (Republic of Belarus) hosted a regular meeting of the Council of the Permanent Representatives of the CIS Member Nations at the Statutory and Other Bodies of the Commonwealth.

At the meeting, participants were briefed on the activities of the Anti-Terrorism Center on coordination of agencies and intelligence services to suppress the propaganda of terrorist ideology, material, technical and financial support for militants.

In addition, plenipotentiary representatives summed up the results of the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Governments held on 12 November. The meeting adopted 16 documents, including the Interstate Target Program on Reclamation of the Territories of the States Exposed to Uranium Mining Operations, the Concept for the Strategic Development of Railway Transport in the “1520 Area” until 2030, the Cooperation Agreement on the Protection of Copyright and Related Rights in Information and Telecommunication Networks. The heads of government approved the Comprehensive Action Plan for 2021-2025 for the implementation of the Intergovernmental Program of Innovative Cooperation until 2030 and the Action Plan for the CIS Year of Folk Art and Cultural Heritage in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2022.

In addition, the meeting discussed the progress of the implementation of the Action Plan dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The next meeting of the Council is to be held on 21 December.
