Preserving Memory of Fallen in Great Patriotic War Discussed in Tavricheskiy Palace

On 7 December, the Tavricheskiy Palace hosted the International Roundtable “Memory for Peace”, which discussed the improvement of legal framework in the field of perpetuating the memory of those who died defending the Motherland.

The event was organized by the Charitable Foundation “Worthy Memory” with the support of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Elena Kuzina addressed the participants and noted the relevance of preserving the historical truth about the war, perpetuating the feat of the heroes.

The roundtable discussed the most relevant issues in the field of memorialization of fallen soldiers and preserving military graves as part of the implementation of the Agreement on Perpetuating the Memory of the Courage and Heroism of the Peoples of the CIS Member Nations in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The roundtable brought together the representatives of public authorities, heads of civil society organizations aimed at preserving the memory of the defenders of the Motherland and CIS search teams.

Secretary of the Joint Commission at the IPA CIS for the Harmonization of National Laws Related to Security, Countering Emerging Threats and Challenges Stanislav Korostelev and Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defense and Security Issues Alexander Borisov took part in the event.
