Karakol to Become CIS Cultural Capital in 2022

Karakol (Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic) officially took over the baton from Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan) – the city will become the CIS Cultural Capital 2022.
According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, on 18 December, the Tajik State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after S. Aini hosted a solemn closing ceremony of the year “Dushanbe – the CIS Cultural Capital 2021” and the transfer of this status to Karakol.
