Amendments to the Agreement on Joint Action in Emergency Mitigation discussed in Minsk

The Agreement was signed in 1993 to become the basic document in the sphere. The Agreement has its implementation accountability framework – CIS Council for Mitigating natural Disasters and Man-Made Emergency Situations. The bulk of amendments concern the Statute of the Council which is a part of the said Agreement. The amendments are needed to bring the current version of the Statute in line with the Model Statute of CIS Sectoral Bodies of Cooperation and relate to its mission, mandate and rules of operation.
