CIS Economic Council Holds 85th Meeting

On 13 March, the 85th meeting of the CIS Economic Council took place in the World Trade Center in Moscow. The agenda of the meeting featured the issues related to different areas of the CIS economic cooperation.

The meeting was headed by Chairman of the CIS Economic Council, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan Dzhamshid Kuchkarov.

The participants of the meeting supported the initiative of the Republic of Uzbekistan to submit the draft CIS 2030 Long-Term Economic Development Strategy for the consideration at the regular meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government. Moreover, the members of the Council approved the draft CIS 2030 Cooperation Priorities for Transport, as well as the Action Plan on the Implementation of the Concept of Aligned Social and Demographic Policies of the CIS Countries for 2020-2030.

Upon the decision of the Council of the CIS Heads of State of 28 September 2018, the year 2021 is declared the Year of Architecture and Urban Planning. The members approved the Action Plan, which provides for holding in 2021 of a number of architecture and urban planning forums and competitions, as well as exhibitions, thematic conferences, roundtables and seminars.
