CIS Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member Nations at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth approve the agendas of the meetings of the councils of the CIS Foreign Ministers and Heads of State

A regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member Nations at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth took place in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk. The meeting aimed to approve the draft agendas of the regular meetings of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers and the Council of CIS Heads of State, which will take place in Ashgabat on 10 and 11 October respectively.

It is expected that the Foreign Ministers will exchange their views on the relevant issues of international agenda and the CIS cooperation, adopt the Action Plan for Enhanced Partnership among the CIS Foreign Ministries, consider the issues related to the CIS Games, ensuring information security in the CIS member nations, building the Joint Military Communication System, fighting illegal drugs, psychotropic substances and its precursors trafficking.

The meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State is expected to begin with an exchange of views on the CIS cooperation and discussion of the 2020 CIS Chairmanship. In addition to the documents approved by the Foreign Ministers on the eve of the meeting, it is expected to consider the draft Declaration on CIS Strategic Economic Cooperation and the Convention on Transferring the Execution of Sentences not Associated with Deprivation of Liberty.

Members of the Council of Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representatives also discussed the proposals on the draft agenda for the next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government to be held in Moscow on 25 October. The document will be finalized in August in cooperation with interested CIS ministries and departments.
