CIS Strategy on Information Security Approved

At the meeting on 25 October 2019, the Council of the CIS Heads of Government approved a number of important documents, including the CIS Strategy on Information Security.

The draft Strategy was developed by the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defense and Security Issues in accordance with the Intergovernmental Program of Joint Measures to Combat Crime for 2014-2018.

On 28 November 2014, the draft document was adopted at the 41st plenary session of CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and submitted to the CIS Executive Committee for consideration by the relevant ministries and agencies. The Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan put forward their amendments and proposals. The revised document was approved at the meetings of the CIS Economic Council (15 March 2019, Moscow) and the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers (10 October 2019, Ashgabat) and later submitted for the consideration by the Council of the CIS Heads of Government, which adopted its final version.
