Creation of an international humanitarian Internet portal of the CIS countries

A joint meeting of the CIS Council for Humanitarian Cooperation and the Board of the CIS Intergovernmental Humanitarian Action Trust Fund took place in Moscow.

Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Konysbek Zhussupbekov attended the meeting.

According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, 14 issues were on the agenda of the event. The participants of the meeting summed up the results of the work of the Trust Fund in 2016 and outlined the tasks for 2017-2018, defined humanitarian activities in the CIS for 2019-2020 and analyzed the efficiency of the implementation of major cultural initiatives.

The meeting focused on the interaction of the CIS Council for Humanitarian Cooperation with other sectoral bodies of the Commonwealth, a broader involvement of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in the work of the Council, operation of the Council for Information Support of Events Held in the CIS countries, and the organization in 2018-2020 of the patriotic project Heritage of the Great Victory: Sacred Memory and Honor dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War..

The meeting participants discussed giving the Internet portal Sozvuchie: Literature and Journalism of the Commonwealth Countries launched in the Republic of Belarus the status of an international humanitarian Internet resource. The project was implemented to unite literature, artistic and journalistic resources across the CIS. Its purpose is to reflect the modern literary process in all Commonwealth countries, restorelost creative ties among the states of the post-Soviet space. The key tasks include creation of a community of writers, critics, publicists of CIS member states, popularization of modern and classical literature of different peoples, organizing public discussions on the most relevant artistic pieces, and the building a common space of literature and journalism.

The respective proposal will be submitted to the CIS Executive Committee for approval and subsequently forwarded to the CIS Council of Heads of State.
