Economic Policies Commission at the CIS Economic Council Holds Session in Moscow

The Economic Policies Commission at the CIS Economic Council held its session in Moscow at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy. The event brought together the representatives of the CIS bodies of sectoral cooperation, the CIS ministries and agencies and the CIS Executive Committee respective staff members.
The Commission meeting began with the visit of the pavilions of the CIS countries: the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The members of the Commission discussed the establishment of the exhibition and trade centers and permanent exhibitions of the CIS countries at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy proposed by the CIS Advisory Board on International Expositions and Conventions. The participants decided to proceed with organizing such exhibitions, as well as encourage the authorized companies of the CIS Member Nations concerned to enhance the participation of the exhibition and trade centers in the events held on the territory of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy.
The members of the Commission adopted the draft CIS 2030 Long-Term Economic Development Strategy and decided to submit it for the consideration of the CIS Economic Council, which will meet on 6 December 2019.
The Commission also discussed the issues of improving railways pricing policy in the CIS countries, the impact of the digital economy on the development of the tax system across the Commonwealth, the implementation of the List of the Pilot Projects of the 2020 CIS Intergovernmental Program of Innovative Cooperation.
The participants were briefed on the revised version of the Terms of the CIS Award Competition for the Achievements in the Field of Quality of Products and Services and the Review of Trade Policy of the Republic of Armenia. The Commission considered the reports on the activity of the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee and the CIS Advisory Board of the Heads of the State Archives Management Agencies.
The next meeting of the Economic Policies Commission at the CIS Economic Council is scheduled for 20 November 2019.
