Experts discussed the Draft CIS Cooperation Agreement on Radiation Safety

The meeting of the CIS group of experts on coordination of the draft CIS Cooperation Agreement on Preparedness to Respond to Nuclear Accidents or Radiological Emergencies and Mutual Assistance in Liquidation of their Consequences took place in Moscow, according to the CIS Executive Committee press-service.

The participants approved the draft agreement refined in accordance with comments and proposals submitted by a number of the CIS member nations and expressed during the meeting of the group. The document will be circulated among the governments of the Commonwealth nations for further consideration by the CIS bodies in due course.

The meeting of the group of experts brought together representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the members of the CIS Committee on the Use of Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Purposes and the CIS Executive Committee.
