IPA CIS delegation will attend the international conference Religions against Terrorism

On 31 May, the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation in Astana will host the international conference Religions against Terrorism which precedes the XV meeting of the Secretariat of the Assembly of World and Traditional Religions. The event is hosted among a set of initiatives on combating international terrorism voiced by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev at the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly.

The Conference will convene many high-profile participants, which speaks for its utmost relevance.

The cross-cutting theme of the Conference will be the practical promotion of the ideas on strengthening global security, fixed in the Manifesto on the World in the XXI Century. While mainstreaming the key role of religious leaders in fighting terrorism, the Conference will enhance the parliamentary dimension of anti-terrorist effort.

Chair of the IPA CIS PC on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport, Vice-Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Sergey Rybakov and Deputy Head of IPA CIS Secretariat Alexey Dolzhikov will represent the IPA CIS at the gathering.
