Issues of tourist industry development discussed in Bishkek

CIS Advisory Board on Tourism held a meeting dedicated to the 25 CIS anniversary in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The meeting focused on the development issues of tourist industry and the improvement of relevant public policies of the CIS nations in the context of the new economic reality, as well as hosting events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the CIS and the relevant role of the Board.

The Board heard reports on the public policy implementation practices in the Kyrgyz Republic, practices of agricultural/green tourism in Belarus and the development of inbound tourism in Russia.

Having heard the report on the use of the tourism satellite account in Armenia, the members of the Board took action to review the practice of using such satellite accounts in the entire CIS.

The meeting also discussed the progress of 2015-2017Action Plan to Implement 2020 CIS Development Strategy for Tourism and drafting the regular Action Plan for 2018-2020, and defined the key issues in tourism development to be included in the agenda of the forthcoming meetings of the Board.

Representative of the MIR Intergovernmental Broadcasting Company shared on the progress to produce the TV show about tourism in the countries of the Commonwealth.

The Board elected Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alla Manilova as its new chair.
