Khairiniso Yusufi: "We, as parliamentarians, shall adopt laws focused on the interests of people and sustainable development"

According to Vice-Speaker of Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Khairiniso Yusuphi, youth is the key creative power of the future. Nations must invest in youth, education and health for youth and engage young people in decision-making.

In her intervention at the GCPPD conference in Tokyo, the parliamentarian shared "on the significance of youth for current development and the need to promote its role in social processes globally".

She also stressed the key role of parliaments and parliamentary networks in promoting economic, social and environmental partnerships to meet sustainable development goals and secure a better future for humanity.

IPA CIS has mainstreamed the issues of youth. On 22 November 2012, the IPA CIS Council established the Young CIS Interparliamentary Assembly to involve young MPs and leaders of youth movements in the process of strengthening CIS-wide cooperation.
