Meeting of the CIS Advisory Board on Cooperation in Education holds in Moscow

The meeting chaired by Chairman of the Advisory Board, President of the People’s Friendship University of Russia Vladimir Filippov brought together representatives of educational management bodies and CIS base organizations in the field of education from the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as invited guests (60 people in total). Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee – Executive Secretary Konysbek Zhusupbekov also participated in the work of the Board.

The participants exchanged their opinions on internal harmonization of the draft Agreement on Equal Rights of CIS Citizens for Admission to Higher Education Institutions of the CIS member nations. The Board also asked the Russian Federation to accelerate the internal harmonization of approaches to the draft Agreement.

The Kyrgyz Republic assumes chairmanship in the Board in 2018. Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Gulmira Kudaiberdieva introduced the participants to the concept of the 5th Congress of Teachers and Education Workers of the CIS Member Nations to be held in the Kyrgyz Republic on 3–6 October 2018 on the eve of the International Teacher`s Day.

The Board also analyzed the activity of network universities. Vice President of the People’s Friendship University of Russia Larisa Efremova made a report on legal regulation of the CIS Network University. Acting President of the Moscow State Linguistic University – basу organization of the CIS member nations on languages ​​and culture – Irina Kraeva spoke on the establishment of a network university for spiritual education, i.e. theological education in secular universities, where students could master the complex of sciences studying religious teachings in the cultural and historical aspects.

In the afternoon, the representatives of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan participated in the meeting of heads of bodies responsible for the attestation of qualified personnel. The subject of the discussion was the draft recommendations “On attestation of top-qulaified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel” developed by the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education.
