Meeting of the CIS Board on Cooperation in the Fields of R&D and Innovations in Minsk

The CIS Board on Cooperation in the Fields of R&D and Innovations held its extended meeting dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the CIS in Minsk.

The meeting featured welcome messages on behalf of the governments of Armenia, Belarus, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, and the CIS Execom.

Members of the Board considered implementation of the CIS 2020 Program of Innovation Cooperation and the Action Plan for 2105-2016 and 2017-2020, discussed draft regulations on developing and financing activities and projects within the Program and reviewed possible ways of implementing its pilot intergovernmental innovation projects.

The CIS Board on Cooperation in the Fields of R&D and Innovations was established in November 2009. Its focus working areas are:

― coordinate general R&D and innovation policy and its components;

― build financial and economic tools to support joint R&D and innovation programs and projects;

― advise on promoting new forms of cooperation including public support to facilitate efficient use of R&D and innovation opportunities of the states in the implementation of joint programs;

― advise on promoting favorable conditions for building direct ties among R&D institutions and innovators, scientists and professionals from across the CIS.
