Meeting of the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers took place in Sochi

According to the CIS Executive Committee press-service, the participants of the meeting adopted draft Statements by the CIS Heads of State on Supporting the Institute of Family and Traditional Family Values, as well as the decisions of the CIS Heads of State to declare 2019 the Year of the Book, 2020 the Year of the 75^th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, decisions of the Council of the CIS Heads of State on Delimitation of Powers between the Council of the CIS Heads of State and the Council of the CIS Heads of Government, the Provisions on the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers, and the Provisions on the CIS Economic Council.

The meeting also adopted the following draft documents: the Concept of the CIS Cooperation in Combating Corruption, the draft Agreement between the Government of Russia and the CIS on the Terms of Operations in Russia of the Bureau for Coordination of Combating Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crimes on the Territory of the CIS Member Nations, the Agreement on Information Exchange within the CIS in the Field of Combating Terrorism and Other Forms of Extremism and their Financing.

The heads of the foreign offices approved the draft Guidelines for the Adaptation of the CIS United Air Defense System to Address Aerospace Defense Tasks.

The Council also adopted the action plans for 2018-2020 on the implementation of the Commonwealth Program of Support and Development of National Sports until 2020, as well as the Strategy for the CIS International Youth Cooperation until 2020 and the Strategy for the CIS Cooperation in the Sphere of Tourism until 2020.

The meeting also discussed a set of organizational and practical measures aimed at adapting the CIS to modern realities in the context of enhancing performance of the statutory and sectoral bodies of the Commonwealth.
